Movement Arts Study Lab is a Naropa Student group scored and facilitated by Laura May (that's me) based on the Tamalpa Life/Art Process. (For more info on this most bomb body of work, check out www.tamalpa.org)
MAS Lab provides a structured container for students to explore somatic and artistic approaches to our Naropa curriculum, bringing contemplative education into movement and artistic expression. How do we learn philosophy through our bodies? Our art? Our song? How does this embodied learning reflect and nurture our personal lives? MAS Lab explores these themes as a way to learn, digest, and integrate course material in community.
Each lab is a themed and facilitated exploration based on community input and topics common to the study of philosophy, psychology, religion, meditative practice, and dance. Bring material that is challenging (or exciting!) you and we’ll explore it through the tools of movement and expressive art.
